Check Latah County VINE Records

An Idaho VINE inmate check can track one specific Latah County person and register custody-change or release notices. It is not a general list of everyone released. Searchers should compare identity details, open the correct record, and read the event exactly as the participating agency supplied it. The local custody path makes that care vital: a Latah County booking can lead to custody in Nez Perce County. A VINE release check or roster disappearance therefore needs direct confirmation before it is described as a return to the community. Federal custody is handled outside VINE.

Latah County VINE Release Fields

A VINE result should be read as a report from its participating source. The words “released” or “out of custody” describe that source event. They do not rule out an immediate transfer to another county, IDOC, federal custody, or immigration detention.

Field How to read it
Name and identifiers Confirm the record belongs to the intended person.
Custody status Reports the status sent by the participating agency.
Facility or location Identifies the source to contact for direct confirmation.
Custody event May describe release, transfer, or another status change.
Event time or date Shows the service's reported event timing, subject to source lag.
Notification action Opens the available registration channels for that record.

A state correction result adds another layer. IDOC Resident/Client Search can show “In custody,” “In community,” “Active Bench Warrant,” or “Discharged” with a date. “In community” ordinarily means outside prison while still under IDOC jurisdiction. VINE should not be used to silently convert that status into full discharge.

Register Latah County Release Alerts

Registration begins only after the correct individual record is open. Select the notification or “Get notified/Register” control. The live interface determines which phone, text, email, or account channels are available.

  1. Choose the offered notification channel or channels.
  2. Enter the requested contact or account information.
  3. Confirm the phone, text, email, or account details as the interface directs.
  4. If a telephone flow prompts for a four-digit PIN, create and repeat it, then retain it to acknowledge calls.
  5. Review the selected record and event types before completing registration.

No current Idaho-specific official manual located in the research proved that every web registration requires a PIN. A PIN should therefore be described as conditional on the telephone prompt, not as a mandatory step for all users.

Keep contact information current. VINE is most useful before movement occurs. After an alert, write down its time, wording, facility, and person identifiers, then verify with the named source.

Confirm Latah County VINE Alerts

Call Latah at 208-882-2216 when the booking may have ended locally. For overnight or non-bond custody, review Nez Perce's current-custody page and call 208-799-3132. Nez Perce itself warns that its reports can lag and that present status is confirmed by telephone or in person.

Ask a precise question: is the person currently held, released to the community, or transferred, and which agency created the movement record? Then check Idaho iCourt for the bond or release order and request the jail's custody-movement entry. A court order explains authority, while the movement record supplies the actual facility exit.

For state prison or felony supervision, use IDOC Resident/Client Search. For a federal sentence, use BOP Locator. If an immigration transfer may follow county release, use ICE's current locator. None of these systems proves the history of every other system.

Latah County's Two-Jail Alert Problem

Latah's 2025 transition created a distinct notification issue. A person can be booked during court hours in Moscow, then housed in Lewiston if bond is not posted. An alert tied to one source may describe the end of that source's custody while another agency continues confinement.

Identify the facility named in the alert before arranging travel or reporting a community release. If the source is Latah, ask whether Nez Perce received the person. If the source is Nez Perce, ask whether the exit was bond, court transport, IDOC transport, federal pickup, another hold, or community release.

A roster disappearance creates the same risk. Latah's online list is current custody, not a former-booking archive. Nez Perce updates its database every 24 hours and moves weekend or holiday report information to Monday. VINE can improve notice, but it inherits the source agency's event language and timing.

Note: Keep the alert and later written record together because the alert is timely evidence while the custody entry is the durable agency account.

VINE Versus Latah Release Records

VINE answers whether a participating source reported a status event and whether notifications can be sent. A release record answers which booking ended, when it ended, under what authority, and where the person went. Those are related but different functions.

Source Best use Main limit
Idaho VINE Prospective notice and quick custody-status checks. Source participation and update timing vary.
Latah or Nez Perce jail Direct present-status confirmation. Telephone information may not be a certified record.
Custody-movement record Documented event time, type, and destination. Requires a request to the creating agency.
iCourt Bond, release, disposition, sentence, and later orders. May not state the exact door-out time.
IDOC search State custody, community supervision, and discharge status. Does not cover a county-only jail stay.

Two-source corroboration is the sound standard. Pair a VINE release notice with facility confirmation, a jail movement record with the court order, or an IDOC discharge status with an IDOC information response.

Latah County VINE Identity Checks

Common names, aliases, and more than one correction number can produce a wrong match. Compare the name, birth information, custody ID, booking number, facility, and case number wherever those items are available. A photo can support identification on the Latah roster, but it does not prove a release.

Released
The participating source reported that its custody ended.
Out of custody
The person is no longer held by that source, subject to transfer verification.
In community
IDOC generally reports supervision outside prison, not full discharge.
Discharged
IDOC reports that the shown sentence or supervision jurisdiction ended on the stated date.

When details conflict, contact the named facility and preserve the exact wording rather than choosing the most convenient result. For a durable account, request the event from the agency that created it.

The interface is a starting point. A matching event still needs to be read under its named agency and checked against Latah County's two-jail custody path.

Preserve a Latah VINE Event

Write down the alert time, status wording, named facility, custody ID, and notification channel. A later screen may change as the source sends a new event. Keeping the original wording helps distinguish a release notice from a transfer, location update, or later correction.

For an urgent present-status question, call the named facility. For the durable account, request the completed custody movement by booking number and event date. If legal proof is required, ask whether a certified copy is available and pair the movement with the related court order or IDOC status.

Notification failures are also possible. An unreceived alert does not prove that no movement happened. Check registration contact details, confirm the correct person record, and use the jail, court, and state channels independently.
